Goodrick, 74, of Dalzell passed away at 8:56 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.Born May 27, 1944, in Spring Valley to Winfield and Katherine (Podobinski) Goodrick, he married Mary Jean Cattani Sept. 21, 1963, in St. Thomas More Church. She survives.He was a retired iron worker. He was a member of the Dalzell Gun Club, Iron Workers Local 386 and St. Thomas More Catholic Church.Also surviving are one daughter, Traci Zera of Peru; one son, Jeff (Kati) Goodrick of Peru; one granddaughter, Hannah Zera of Peru; one grandson, Cole Goodrick of Peru; and nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dulcy Wiese; and two brothers, Henry Flohr and Normand Goodrick.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Dalzell with Father Pat Fixsen officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Spring Valley. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church.Memorials may be directed to the family.The Helmer-Shields Funeral Home in Granville is assisting the family with arrangements.
UPDATE: Missing cat found after tragedy in SW Gainesville

WCJB)- UPDATE: Volunteers from Operation Catnip have found Kimba, and now have safely captured all three of the Williams family's cats. Volunteers were allowed into the home on Friday, and found the missing cat hiding in a closet. Kimba will be reunited with Jude and Sadie who are already in the care of Williams family relatives. ORIGINAL STORY: The mother and daughter murdered in their North Central Florida home last week are being laid to rest by their family members this week. Lisa Williams, 57, and Paige Williams, 15, were killed inside their Gainesville home last week. Husband and father, Paul Williams, is being charged with their murders. Lisa and Paige are survived by older daughter and sister Lindsey Williams as well as dozens of extended family members.Lisa worked at Steven Foster Elementary School as a media specialist. Family members say she had a magnetic personality that drew people from all walks of life. Paige was a student at Buchholz High School. She was an outgoing teen a unique trendsetter that expressed herself through her writing. Their funerals are planned for this Friday at Baxton and Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home in Okeechobee at 11 am. As the family of Lisa and Paige cope with their loss, community members are stepping forward to relocate their pets to a new home. Volunteers with Operation Catnip have safely captured two of Paige and Lisa's cats, but there's still another one missing. "At this point yet we don't know exactly where the cat is, there's a possibility that she's inside the house or there's a possibility that she's outside the house,” Melissa Jenkins, with Operation Catnip, said.
